And what's that in your other hand, Daddy?
Is it a circle?
Is that the wheel, Daddy?
Are you driving the car?
Are you okay, Daddy?
Why do you look like that, Daddy?
Why do you look so tired, Daddy?

Daddy! Daddy!
Why are we going so fast, Daddy?

Daddy, why can't I say anything?
Why did you and Mommy only have one baby?
Daddy, why did you and Mommy have a baby that can't say anything?
Why can't I even say 'slow down' to you, Daddy?

No! Daddy!
Why is the car spinning now, Daddy?
Why are we going off the road, Daddy?

Daddy! It hurts, Daddy!
What's all this red stuff, Daddy?
Daddy, I'm cold.
Why aren't you moving anymore, Daddy?
Why can't I move either, Daddy?
Why does it hurt so much?
How did the car stop moving so quickly, Daddy?

Daddy, I wanna see Mommy.

Why did she go away, Daddy?
Was it because you hit her?
Was it because you made her cry?
Why, Daddy?
Why am I remembering everything now, Daddy?

Daddy, I'm cold.
Daddy, it really hurts.
Daddy, my eyes are getting heavy.
Daddy, my head is getting fuzzy.

Daddy, it doesn't hurt anymore.

Daddy?
Are we going to see Mommy?

Daddy, I love you.
Mommy, if you can hear me, I love you too.
We'll all be together again soon.

Why are we falling?

so disturbing, yet so beautifully crafted. flawless masterpiece! i must say though.. if you gave this to a psychoanalyst.. they'd have a lot to say. Upon reading this piece.. the only appropriate thing one could say is : HOLY SHIT THATS GOOD!...wonderful piece... you never cease to amaze me.

Saw this the other day when it was newly-posted, but for some reason deviantART wouldn't let me log in (I think the computer I was using spazzed out) so I couldn't comment or :+fav: or anything!

Annnyway, I had to go save the link in an e-mail so that I could come back to this piece, and I am a lazy person, so the effort I went to shows you just how much I like this.

An amazing piece. I love it! It's creepy, but in a subtle way. The "Mommy" is slightly annoying, but then you Americans never could spell properly ;) :D Just joking! Great work! :+fav:

By the way, what's wrong with "Mommy" ?? I don't believe it's spelled wrong... Besides it's more or less colloquial, and there are many variations, no?

O~~h, I see what you mean. I guess you have a point there: the speaker of the poem is, I suppose, of American background. At least that's how I heard the voice in my head. As for me? I'm sort of... international :)
